Avoiding NeoBatch application pool recycling

The NeoBatch Server is hosted in IIS and is placed into its own IIS application pool. For some kinds of online applications, it is helpful that IIS has automatic settings that periodically recycle/restart the application pool in order to start anew. In the case of the NeoBatch Server, however, having the application pool recycle at undefined times is a very bad thing, because any jobs that the server has spawned will be abandoned and not be able to complete. The NeoBatch Server does clean up the state of the batch system when it is restarted (as well as attempting to cancel jobs that were abandoned), but it then becomes necessary to restart jobs that were not able to complete themselves. Read Full Post
