Latest Version of Fujitsu Software’s NeoKicks Features User Friendly Console, Enhanced Security And Robustness
V1.1 of Fujitsu Software’s NeoKicks CICS COBOL application tool for migration to .NET also reduces design time.
Sunnyvale, CA, April 20, 2005 – Fujitsu Software Corporation today announced the availability of the latest version of NeoKicks™, the only CICS COBOL application tool that provides migration to .NET and positions the applications to take full advantage of .NET.
“Users will find a number of enhancements in NeoKicks V1.1 that will make migration from the mainframe to .NET more efficient and cost effective and those who are using an earlier version of NeoKicks can take advantage of backward compatibility with projects generated with Version 1.0,” said Ron Langer, senior director, languages group, Fujitsu Software.
The NeoKicks V1.1 console now features line splitting and word wrapping for readability;
overtype emulation; and support for other mainframe AID keys other than ENTER so it behaves more like a mainframe console.
"NeoKicks gave us the greatest benefits of hardware platform cost and positioning of the applications for future developments," said Luis Martinez, founder and principal of Adamed, the system integrator that migrated 7.5 million lines of code to NeoKicks and related NetCOBOL/Windows/.NET Framework products for Thyssenkrup Galmed. "With a challenging deadline, we were most grateful that migrating code using NeoKicks was quick and easy, so we had time to focus on the other aspect that were unique to Galmed's systems. Now that the migration has been completed our developers are enjoying the power available to them in the Visual Studio environment and the company is seeking to take advantage of the improved access to the latest technologies."
