A series of enhancements strengthens the company’s position in the COBOL for Windows market, further improving performance for users and expanding the environments being supported, while reaffirming our commitment to free COBOL runtimes.
This new version provides users with the confidence that they can use the development tools for the latest Windows operating systems such as Server 2008, Vista, and x64 editions. With NetCOBOL for Windows V10, users can create COBOL applications whose data can be easily exchanged with Excel resulting in even greater flexibility in working with other applications. In addition, NetCOBOL for Windows supports 16-bit Unicode Transformation Format (UTF-16) which is especially important for global applications that may contain characters from foreign language alphabets.
NetCOBOL for Windows V10 continues to give users the option of using Eclipse as their integrated development environment (IDE), an option that is becoming increasingly popular with many in the development community.
